About The Position

Kristian Electric Ltd., a family-owned Canadian business founded in 1964, specializes in overhead cranes, hoists, welding equipment, and material-handling solutions. With operations across Alberta and Saskatchewan and customers throughout Canada, Kristian Electric is seeking a driven and experienced sales professional to expand its crane business through long-term service agreements, new crane sales, and crane modernization and modification projects. This role focuses on developing and selling preventive maintenance and inspection agreements, new overhead crane systems, crane modernizations and modifications, hoist replacements and capacity upgrades, electrical and mechanical crane upgrades, radio remote controls, variable-frequency drives, control-system upgrades, and runway, electrification, and material-handling solutions. The successful candidate will identify opportunities, assess customer requirements, develop technical and commercial proposals, and collaborate with engineering, service, production, and project-management teams to deliver complete crane solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of industrial, technical, or capital-equipment sales experience.
  • Experience developing long-term customer relationships and managing complex sales opportunities.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and projects.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, work ethic, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Windows, and standard business software.
  • Valid Class 5 non-GDL driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, company branches, training sessions, and industry events.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of overhead crane or material-handling sales experience.
  • Experience selling crane inspection and preventive-maintenance agreements.
  • Experience selling new overhead cranes, hoists, and engineered lifting systems.
  • Experience with crane modernization, modification, and upgrade projects.
  • Technical knowledge of overhead cranes, hoists, controls, variable-frequency drives, radio remote systems, runway systems, and electrification.
  • Established relationships within Alberta’s industrial, manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, mining, or material-handling sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities for crane inspection, maintenance, and service agreements.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing industrial customers.
  • Identify opportunities for new crane systems, hoist replacements, crane modifications, and modernization projects.
  • Conduct customer site visits to assess applications, equipment condition, and operational requirements.
  • Review inspection findings and recommend appropriate repairs, upgrades, replacements, or service programs.
  • Work with customers to understand production, safety, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop technical proposals, quotations, presentations, and lifecycle-cost recommendations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, estimating, service, production, and project-management teams.
  • Provide input into the design of customized cranes, hoists, controls, and material-handling systems.
  • Estimate equipment, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and project costs.
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and commercial conditions.
  • Manage opportunities from initial customer contact through quotation, award, delivery, and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, quotation, and sales-forecast records.
  • Provide after-sales support and assist in resolving technical or commercial concerns.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Monitor customer activity, competitor activity, market conditions, and emerging industry opportunities.
