About The Position

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Claim Manager to join a professional services group. In this role, you will handle complex, multi-party professional liability claims involving architects, engineers, and surveyors. Will be responsible for managing claims across a nationwide coverage area, requiring strategic thinking, detailed investigation, and effective attorney management. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant legal or insurance-related experience, with meaningful experience handling design professional claims under professional liability policies.
Strong knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures impacting claims handling.
Proficiency in proactive investigation, risk transfer, claim handling, attorney management, and claims resolution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
Ability to travel as needed for mediations and settlement conferences.

Nice To Haves

A Juris Doctorate with relevant insurance defense litigation experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage professional liability claims involving design professionals, including litigation and pre-litigation disputes.
Conduct thorough investigations and issue appropriate coverage letters and documentation.
Assess and analyze coverage issues and pursue risk transfer opportunities, including contractual indemnity and additional insured issues.
Handle claims in accordance with best practices, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
Collaborate with insureds, claimants, underwriters, and upper management to achieve optimal outcomes.
Attend mediations and settlement conferences as necessary.
