About The Position
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Claim Manager specializing in Design Professionals/Construction to join a team. This role involves managing professional liability claims, including Errors and Omissions (E&O) and miscellaneous professional liability (MPL) litigation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in claims handling, coverage analysis, and litigation management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in claims handling or litigation, with a focus on professional liability claims.
- Strong knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures related to professional liability claims.
- Proficiency in proactive investigation, risk transfer, attorney management, and claims resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with insureds, claimants, underwriters, and senior management.
Nice To Haves
- A Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Proactively manage professional liability claims, including Errors and Omissions (E&O) and miscellaneous professional liability (MPL) litigation.
- Conduct thorough investigations, assess coverage issues, and issue appropriate coverage letters and documentation.
- Establish and maintain accurate reserves for claims.
- Pursue risk transfer opportunities, including contractual indemnity and additional insured issues.
- Ensure claims are handled in accordance with company best practices and resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials as necessary.
