About The Position

The Technical Buyer role is a critical purchasing position with functional responsibility for services and materials to include but not limited to maintenance part inventory, special project parts, and other routine or non-routine purchases. This position may support contract negotiation, work with corporate and local teams, create cost savings projects, and maintain supplier relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years combined experience in manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain, maintenance, or other relevant field
  • Basic accounting skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient PC skills including MS Office
  • Strong teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • General knowledge of inventory management preferred
  • General knowledge of cost accounting preferred
  • SAP proficiency preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate purchases of supplies, equipment, services, and parts used by the maintenance department
  • Act as the overall owner for the purchase order life cycle
  • Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with requestors and approved suppliers
  • Assign correct account details, execute, and close purchase orders
  • Partner with Engineering/Maintenance team to ensure inventory accuracy of storeroom
  • Ensure compliance with all Nestlé purchasing policies and perform periodic audits of processes
  • Provide support to Engineering for capital purchases
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements for factory purchases
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow team members and other departments
  • Understand and follow factory management systems for human safety, food safety, and/or environmental management
  • Understand and actively work toward achieving management system targets and objectives
  • Follow factory rules, procedures, and practices related to management systems
  • Report incidents and unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintain compliance with regulations
  • Refer to the appropriate management system on all related procedures and programs
  • Perform all other duties as assigned including both essential and nonessential job functions
