About The Position

Interpath Laboratory is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Assistant to support their Immunology/Molecular department. This role involves performing a variety of laboratory procedures, operating advanced equipment, ensuring quality control, and providing excellent customer service. The team utilizes cutting-edge technology such as digital imaging IFA, PCR testing, and Mass Spectrometry. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science field is required (e.g., Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline).
  • Strong foundational knowledge of laboratory practices, principles, and equipment.
  • Skilled in multitasking and problem-solving in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with HIPAA regulations and dedicated to patient confidentiality.
  • Attend work regularly and on time.
  • Must utilize appropriate protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, and face shield) at all times while in the lab and are regularly exposed to infection by handling potentially infectious samples.
  • Ability to sit and or stand for extended period of times.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Mobility to climb stairs on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and pass vision acuity test in compliance with CAP regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or prior experience in microbiology, molecular biology, or clinical laboratory sciences is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a broad range of laboratory procedures and assist Medical Technologists (MTs) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) in immunology and molecular testing.
  • Operate automated laboratory instruments, electronic systems, and precision tools, providing troubleshooting support when needed.
  • Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance initiatives to maintain high standards.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, answer phones professionally, and ensure accurate documentation while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Follow established safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Take on additional duties as operational needs grow and change, contributing to the success of the entire team.
