About The Position

A role in OpenText Professional Services is more than just delivering projects — it’s an opportunity to shape how global engineering leaders manage critical information across complex asset lifecycles. As a Technical Architect, you will design and deliver cutting-edge Enterprise Content Management solutions, helping clients successfully digitize their operations while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and innovation. The Technical Architect will act as a leading authority on architecting the proper Enterprise architecture to sustain large volumes of content from multiple sources. Understands client requirements and advises client on solution options. They will also apply expert business skills and consulting methodologies to collect and analyze data. Exhibits a broad knowledge of all service offerings within Open Text, working with other team members to grow and develop knowledge as the product offering extends in features and settings. Collaborates with the sales team to scope the specialized portion of proposals for client engagements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science / information technology or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven experience (6+ years) in enterprise software implementation and solution delivery.
  • Ability to negotiate requirements, create consensus, influence key stakeholders.
  • Lead complex technology implementations, aligning technical solutions with overarching business objectives.
  • Guide client organizations through digital transformations to ensure seamless user adoption and realized ROI.
  • Troubleshoot high-level escalations, adapt project scopes, and maintain momentum within matrixed, global environments.
  • Hands-on expertise (3+ years) with ECM platforms such as OpenText Enterprise Content Management solutions using OpenText Content Management, OpenText Core Content Management, and OpenText Documentum Content Management or similar solutions.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, integration patterns, and enterprise application landscapes.
  • 5+ years of architecture experience with demonstrated skills in analytical problem-solving environments.
  • 4+ years’ experience with one or more of OpenText Documentum, OpenText Content Management, or OpenText Core Content Management.
  • 3+ Years experience with upgrades / migrations of one or more OpenText Content Management products.
  • 3+ years of work experience in container ecosystems such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform.
  • 4+ years of Java / Python development coupled with REST and SOAP Frameworks.
  • Working knowledge with Database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, and/or PGSQL databases, network architecture, firewalls, extranet security, virtual environments, backup and high available structures.
  • General knowledge of web servers, browsers and other internet applications.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, configuration automation, and monitoring solutions.
  • Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, LDAP/Active Directory, Single Sign-On (SSO), TLS certificates, encryption, and secrets management.
  • Solid understanding of Operating System platforms, Storage platforms, different database products, and cloud deployment providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • The candidate should have excellent communication skills and be willing to travel (up to 75%). Majority of the travel will be within North America.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Lifesciences and Healthcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of OpenText Enterprise Content Management solutions using OpenText Content Management, OpenText Core Content Management, and OpenText Documentum Content Management solutions across complex enterprise environments.
  • Architect scalable and high-performing OpenText ECM system landscapes aligned with client requirements.
  • Design and implement integrations with enterprise platforms such as SAP, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and engineering systems.
  • Configure and manage cloud-based proof-of-concept environments to support workshops and project validation phases.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, translating business needs into technical solutions and influencing product improvements.
  • Contribute to innovation by enhancing Professional Services methodologies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with a global, cross-functional team in a dynamic hybrid work environment.
  • Develop strategies, policies, best practices through leadership collaboration and technical community contributions.
