About The Position

This position will provide remote and on-site subject matter expertise at Barksdale AFB, LA in support of the B-1 System Program Office (SPO). The Technical Analyst is responsible to assist in the design, planning, execution, analysis, reporting, and documentation related to weapons programs on the B-1 Bomber. This is a 100% direct labor position that will require intermittent travel within the Continental US (CONUS).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university.
  • 15 years experience in Air Force weapons/armament maintenance required, 10 years in the B-1 preferred.
  • Demonstrated skill in conceiving, planning and conducting research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity, requiring unconventional or novel approaches and sophisticated research techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently on maintenance and logistics engineering problems and methods, and to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
  • Strong Organizational and Project Management skills.
  • Must have current Top Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years in the B-1 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work in concert with the B-1 SPO, Air Force Global Strike Command, and B-1 user community to assist in the development of weapons requirements.
  • Participate in Working Groups, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various Integrated Project Teams (IPT); provide program, systems engineering, and acquisition support to the B-1 SPO and prime contractors concerning weapons programs.
  • Create and/or review documents including drawings, technical orders, requirements documents, specifications, technical data, and certification documents for governing authorities.
  • Create and/or review weapons documentation including plans, procedures, analysis, and reports.
  • Provide support for validation and verification of hardware, software, and technical documents.
  • Assess risks to program success and recommend courses of action to the IPT lead based on risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop, assess, and recommend strategies for supporting and sustaining updated and modified weapons system components.
  • Travel to multiple locations within CONUS.
