About The Position

This role provides technical advice and support for Emergency Response and Recovery programs, ensuring alignment with CRS quality principles, donor guidelines, and industry best practices. The position aims to enhance the effectiveness, adaptability, and innovation of CRS' global Emergency Response and Recovery programming.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, information and budget management systems, and knowledge-sharing networks.
  • Knowledge of technical principles and concepts in Emergency Response and Recovery, with general knowledge of related disciplines for cross-sectoral approaches.
  • Experience in project design and proposal development, including writing content for proposals.
  • Knowledge of capacity-strengthening best practices.
  • Experience with program monitoring and evaluation and analysis.
  • Experience and skills in networking and relations with donors, peer organizations, and faith-based civil society partners.
  • Understanding of partnership principles.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to influence and gain buy-in from individuals not under direct supervision.
  • Ability to work with individuals in diverse geographical and cultural settings.
  • Good strategic, analytical, problem-solving, and systems thinking skills with the capacity to see the big picture and make sound judgments.
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching skills.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented.
  • Proficiency (verbal and written) in English and French.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Capacity to live and work in difficult/stressful environments.
  • Ability to legally work where the position is to be performed.
  • Ability to undergo and clear a pre-employment medical clearance for roles requiring residence or frequent travel outside a home country.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of agency-wide strategies, standards, tools, and best practices in Emergency Response and Recovery, ensuring integration of gender, protection mainstreaming, and disaster risk reduction.
  • Provide technical solutions to Country Program teams, both remotely and on-site, for strategic planning and application of standards, best practices, partnership principles, tools, and M&E.
  • Contribute to, and sometimes lead, the technical design of proposals, including preparation, design, submission, and approval processes. Act as a technical writer and advise on integrating donor strategies.
  • Support capacity strengthening initiatives for staff and partners in Emergency Response and Recovery programming through developing learning strategies, conducting trainings, and coaching.
  • Collect and analyze program data, capture and share lessons learned and best practices to improve decision-making and contribute to the learning agenda.
  • Maintain relationships with donors, peer organizations, and research institutions, participating in forums to share best practices and promote CRS' work.
