About The Position

The Emergency Response Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of processes and procedures with regard to physical security and guard force operations with a focus on maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates, customers, vendors and visitors. The role is primarily responsible for controlling building access and responding to emergencies and incidents relating to life safety and security of personnel on company property. The role will also support company events and travel for senior leadership as assigned.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 10+ years Recent experience in a similar role in law enforcement (can include Military Police) required.
  • Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA), 18 U.S.C. §926C, card and a Concealed Pistol License required.
  • Safely carries a Jackson-approved firearm and demonstrates proficiency in its use required.
  • Candidates must be able to comply with all local and state licensing regulations required.
  • Ability to successfully complete Jackson sponsored Training required.
  • Must have a valid state issued driver’s license and be able to pass an annual motor vehicle background check required.
  • Will be subject to and required to pass pre-employment and subsequent random drug screenings in accordance with Company policy required.
  • Will be required to complete and pass a pre-hire psychological examination required.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain medical training requirements as identified by Jackson. (Currently American Heart Association - Basic Life Support certification) required.
  • Valid firearms license.
  • LEOSA/CCW required.
  • Candidates must be able to comply with all local and state licensing regulations required.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development of emergency response and incident management plans/procedures, guard force operations, and physical security programs.
  • Controls access to an assigned facility and ensures the safety and security of Jackson facilities through the timely response to emergency and security incidents.
  • Conducts periodic patrols to assess for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, and compliance with established security protocols.
  • Monitors entrances and exit points to prevent unapproved or unauthorized entry and facilitates the movement of people and vehicles.
  • Responds to emergency situations using the appropriate escalation of force in accordance with established protocols.
  • Observes and reports activities and incidents, providing for the security and safety of property and personnel.
  • Preserves order and acts to enforce security policies and procedures regarding personnel and property.
  • Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to management and recommends solutions for resolution.
  • Responds to incidents of workplace violence, security breaches, imminent threats to associates or the company, fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.
  • Provides industry leading protection for company leaders and other designated employees during business-related travel, meetings, public appearances, and other professional engagements as assigned.
  • Partners with internal teams on the planning and logistics around company-sponsored events to ensure physical security matters and executive participation are adequately addressed.
  • Provides logistical support to company leaders as required.
  • Maintains absolute confidentiality and privacy in accordance with guidelines, policies, and applicable laws.
  • Prepares written logs and reports as required.
  • Must be willing to travel as necessary for planned and unplanned events to complete job responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
