About The Position

Talos is seeking a Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager to own financial reporting and audits across its multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction group. Reporting to the Global Controller, this hands-on role connects business activity with financial statements, translating new products and revenue streams—including SaaS subscriptions, digital asset trading, and prediction markets—into sound accounting positions and scalable processes. The manager is expected to reason from first principles where guidance or established playbooks are limited and deliver audit-ready financial statements on deadline. The role oversees consolidated and statutory reporting, external audits, technical accounting research, and collaboration with teams across the business. It also supports accounting for complex areas such as revenue recognition, digital assets, leases, share-based compensation, and mergers and acquisitions; improves reporting processes and tools; maintains accounting policies; contributes to internal control documentation; and supports regulatory reporting for regulated entities.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of accounting experience, including Big 4 or comparable audit experience at Senior or Manager level and at least 2 years in industry.
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge and hands-on experience applying ASC 606 and other complex accounting standards.
  • Track record of preparing consolidated financial statements and disclosures, not only reviewing them.
  • Experience leading external audits; experience across multiple jurisdictions is desirable.
  • Strong technical writing skills, including memos and position papers that withstand auditor scrutiny.
  • Experience in SaaS or technology.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to reason from first principles where guidance is limited.
  • Clear communication with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to financial services, trading, or digital assets.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Workiva, FloQast, or AI tools.
  • CPA or ACA/ACCA qualification preferred.
  • Experience leading external audits across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

  • Own preparation of consolidated and statutory financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures under US GAAP, including multi-currency consolidation and FX translation.
  • Lead the group external audit and approximately five international statutory audits, including Ireland and Singapore, managing timelines, requests, and resolution of open items.
  • Research and document technical positions on complex and non-routine transactions, and present them to auditors, including at national office level.
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, RevOps, and FP&A to define accounting, billing, and reporting treatment for new products and revenue streams.
  • Support technical accounting workstreams involving revenue recognition (ASC 606), digital assets (ASC 350-60), leases (ASC 842), share-based compensation (ASC 718), and M&A (ASC 805/810).
  • Work with Operational Accounting to ensure the close produces accurate, reconciled inputs for reporting.
  • Improve the reporting process, including disclosure automation, reporting tools such as Workiva, and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Maintain accounting policies and contribute to ICFR documentation as the business scales.
  • Support regulatory reporting for regulated entities, including broker-dealer reporting and CIMA VASP returns.
