About The Position

Ingredion is looking for a Technical Sales Representative who will be part of our Virtual Sales Team. In this role, you will interact directly with our small and medium customers via our online chat and our 1-800 line, providing them with ingredient recommendations for their food & beverage applications. You will be managing customers directly and developing new opportunities. You will be joining a team of 12 and enjoying significant on-the-job training and support from other team members. This role has high visibility within Ingredion including exposure to many other groups within Ingredion (Sales, Technical, R&D, customer Service, etc). This role is ideal for Food Science graduates who want to better understand our portfolio of starches, sweeteners, plant-based proteins and hydrocolloids, and are passionate about working with customers. This role is a good starting point for career growth within the company.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as food science, biology, microbiology, chemistry, nutrition, engineering, or related technical field
Interest in working with customers and building relationships, customer-orientation
Attention to detail, well organized, interested in working in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills
Good project management skills
Team player

Responsibilities

Manage customers in an assigned sales territory and develop new opportunities
Answer customer inquiries from the 1-800 line and online chat
Develop an understanding of Ingredion’s product portfolio
Develop an understanding of technical sales and how to help customers solve their ingredient formulation needs with Ingredion’s products
Maintain customer information in Salesforce.com
Stay up to date with current trends in the food industry
