Technical Account Executive
About The Position
Switchboard is seeking a Technical Account Executive for our client, Locution Systems. As a Technical Account Executive, you will be selling mission-critical fire station alerting solutions. This is a technical, consultative sales role: you'll run discovery calls, dig into detailed customer requirements, and work with Locution's support/integrations teams to create solutions for your clients. About Locution Based in beautiful Golden, Colorado, Locution Systems is a pioneer and leader in the Fire Station Alerting industry. For over 30 years, they've been improving response times, reducing dispatcher stress, and enhancing quality of life for first responders. Their systems protect the lives and property of over 50 million people across North America.
Requirements
- Proven track record in relationship based sales, technical sales, government sales, or public safety technology
- Excellent communication abilities across all levels of organization
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings and trade shows
- Ability to work and learn independently
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems
- Comfort digesting technical information and explaining it in plain terms to non-technical stakeholders
- Technical or mechanical aptitude with hardware systems
- Background in complex B2B sales with long sales cycles
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Comfort with both strategic sales and hands-on implementation
Nice To Haves
- Experience in public safety, fire service, or military preferred
Responsibilities
- Drive the complete project lifecycle: from initial discovery through sales, implementation, and ongoing success
- Build and maintain relationships with Fire Chiefs and key public safety decision-makers
- Navigate municipal procurement processes and long-term sales cycles
- Develop technical proposals and presentations that address specific fire department needs
- Manage implementation projects, ensuring smooth deployment and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful system integration
- Attend industry trade shows and conferences to build relationships and showcase our solutions
- Document project progress and maintain accurate records in Salesforce
- Provide technical expertise during pre-sales and implementation phases
