About The Position

Full Visibility is seeking a Mid-Level Tech Writer/Editor to work in Huntsville, AL. This role requires an ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI eligible clearance and may involve a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph examination after the start date. The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain CI Polygraph eligibility throughout their employment. The position involves researching, outlining, writing, and editing content, collaborating with various departments to understand project requirements, and gathering information from subject matter experts to create procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation. Responsibilities include working with development and support leads to manage documentation repositories, revising and editing content, and determining optimal solutions for data compilation and storage. The role also entails developing and maintaining information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards, facilitating easy data migration, and creating content in alternative media forms for maximum usability with a consistent voice. Ensuring documents comply with the organization's style guide is crucial, and the candidate may also be responsible for maintaining and suggesting revisions to the style guide.

Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance/with SCI eligibility
  • May require successful completion of a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
  • At least five (5) years of experience working as a Technical Writer
  • Demonstrated experience writing technical documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or in lieu of a degree, an additional four (4) years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand project requirements.
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
  • Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation repositories, revise, and edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage.
  • Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that uphold organizational and legal standards, and allow for easy data migration.
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation.
  • Ensure that documents follow the style laid out in the organization’s style guide.
  • Maintain the style guide and suggest revisions as appropriate.
