About The Position

Inpatient pharmacy technicians are responsible for maintaining medication systems through preparation, compounding, packaging and delivery of medications. They may prepare IV medications and are tasked with maintaining an optimal environment for the preparation and storage of medications. They also assist the pharmacists in meeting all regulatory compliance requirements. The Pharmacy Technician II will have broader responsibilities in the pharmacy and other specialty areas. They will have responsibility in multiple areas maintaining medication systems through preparation, compounding, packaging, delivery of medications, verifying correct medication is selected for the automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) refill functions, and assisting in the training and education of other technicians. Pharmacy technician II will fulfill all responsibilities of Pharmacy Technician I. The age of patients served includes all age groups.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Pharmacy Intern in Florida or Registered Pharmacy Technician in Florida
  • 6 months technician experience in relevant practice area
  • Excellent math skills
  • Excellent customer service and compassion for our patients
  • Good organization and communication skills
  • Ability to perform detailed tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Flexible and dependable
  • Ability to work alongside multiple team members

Nice To Haves

  • High School Graduate with at least (1) year pharmacy technician experience
  • One or more years of pharmacy technician experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining medication systems through preparation, compounding, packaging, and delivery of medications.
  • Preparing IV medications.
  • Maintaining an optimal environment for the preparation and storage of medications.
  • Assisting pharmacists in meeting all regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Fulfilling all responsibilities of Pharmacy Technician I.
  • Verifying correct medication is selected for automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) refill functions.
  • Assisting in the training and education of other technicians.
