Perform all diagnostic radiology procedures associated with each type of equipment. Ability to operate in two other modalities (either CT, MR, Cath Lab, or IR) in addition to Diagnostic Radiology, analyze body habitus to correctly adjust technical factors, position the body correctly, review physicians written orders or obtain pertinent clinical data to consistently produce high-quality images and reduce unnecessary radiation to patients and oneself. Completed department orientation and/or competency skills rosters as required.

Requirements

  • Diploma from a certified school of radiology technology.
  • Current California Radiology Technologist (CRT) license with fluoroscopy licensure required.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification required.
  • CPI required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two years experience as a registered Radiology Technologist in an acute care facility preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in three modalities (i.e. CT, MR, IR, or Cath Lab) preferred.
  • Current American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all diagnostic radiology equipment (i.e. Fluoroscopy room, portable, and DR room).
  • Perform all diagnostic radiology procedures associated with each type of equipment.
  • Ability to operate in two other modalities (either CT, MR, Cath Lab, or IR) in addition to Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Analyze body habitus to correctly adjust technical factors.
  • Position the body correctly.
  • Review physicians written orders or obtain pertinent clinical data to consistently produce high-quality images and reduce unnecessary radiation to patients and oneself.
  • Completed department orientation and/or competency skills rosters as required.
  • Ability to perform routine and emergent x-ray exams.
  • Ability to perform within three additional modalities (i.e. CT, MR, Cath Lab, or IR).
  • Must be able to perform x-ray/fluoroscopic studies in an operating room setting.
  • Ability to follow physician’s orders.
  • Ability to acquire IV access, assesses the patency of the IV, and administers contrast material.
  • Ability to look up lab values and pull related exams for radiologist viewing.
  • Performs “Time Out” on all procedures, ensures universal protocols are completed on all patients by utilizing “two identifiers” per TJC NPSG standard.
  • Verbalizes and demonstrates, in clinical practice, HIPAA compliance and all safety practices as supported by organizational policy and procedure.
