About The Position

Jupiter Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Pharmacist to join their team. This role is responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy department, including compounding, labeling, and dispensing medications and IV admixtures. The pharmacist will also supervise pharmacy technicians, develop and implement policies and procedures, provide clinical services to improve medication administration and therapeutic outcomes, and offer drug information to healthcare staff. Participation in committees and support for department education (residents, interns, students) are also key aspects of this position. The role requires flexibility to rotate staff to meet department needs, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
  • Current registered pharmacist in the state of Florida.
  • Board certification.
  • American Heart Association, BLS for Health Care Provider.
  • American Heart Association PALS certification.
  • Residency training and 3 years of experience in the specialized clinical practice area or equivalent experience.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Good interpersonal communication with physicians, nurses, etc.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Work as a team player.
  • Ability to use computerized information systems.
  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation, TB/PPD Surveillance Program and Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).

Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties necessary to provide effective daily operation of departmental services and programs.
  • Compounding, labeling, and dispensing of medication and IV admixtures.
  • Supervises pharmacy technicians in all work areas.
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures for specialized area of pharmacy practice.
  • Provide clinical services to enhance medication administration and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Provide clinical drug information to meet the needs of the healthcare staff.
  • Participation in appropriate committees.
  • Provide support for department education including residents, interns, and students.
  • Require up to 25% variable staff rotation to meet department needs including evenings and weekends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
