About The Position

Provides highly skilled, discipline-specific technical skills for the transportation, installation, and maintenance of staging elements for assigned Entertainment venues, projects, events, and productions. Ensures high levels of show quality and a positive guest experience. Responsible for implementing policies and procedures for safe operation of all technical staging equipment.

Requirements

  • 2-5 Years experience within the assigned technical discipline required.
  • A Valid Florida Driver’s License is required to operate company vehicles.
  • UO (Universal Orlando) provides annual training which is required for heavy equipment operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical School preferred.
  • Prior experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity (Staging) preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as the point of contact assigned to an Entertainment venue, project, event, or production.
  • Responsible for the appropriate installation/setup, storage, strike, and transportation of staging equipment.
  • Elevates any technical problems or concerns to Lead or management as they occur.
  • Facilitates and troubleshoots with accountability for completion of team objectives from Leads/Supervisor.
  • Operates large vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Lifts and places irregular objects and maneuvers equipment in all directions in challenging spaces.
  • Assists Tech I with inventory, maintenance, and inspection of staging equipment.
  • Submits proper paperwork for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly inspections.
  • Effectively communicates pertinent information, both written and verbal, which pertains to the technical operation of the assigned entertainment venue/event, to other disciplines, entertainment tech management, and team members of the venue/event.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
