Huntington Ingalls Industries, Mission Technologies (HII-MT) is actively seeking Part-Time candidates with Government, Military, or Industry specialized technical, engineering, or specialty capability lead experience for placement on our Tech Center SME team. Our SMEs also serve as the foundation of our organization's technical advisory to our senior leaders, maintain our expertise & tech-base, and provide professional development & mentorship opportunities for our workforce. Experience includes: Agile & Open Software Development – Agile & DevSecOps development processes, organizations, requirements and tools. Application experience with object-oriented programming languages, microservices, data structures, algorithms, and software testing methods. State-of-practice level knowledge of DoD Open Systems approaches (e.g., Open Mission Systems, Big Iron Framework, or others) Electronic Warfare - Design, Operations, or Deployment of electronic warfare systems to include the state-of-practice of current EW systems, techniques, and modern challenges. May include DoD operational, design, or test experience. Cyber Security & Info-Warfare – To include Offensive / Defensive operations capabilities, or acquisition expertise in applied Risk Management Framework (RMF). May include DoD operational, design, or support experience and key-certifications. Data Sciences & Algorithm Development - Mathematics or physics expertise to support novel algorithm development across a wide array of user applications (incl. Communications, Sensing, Data Fusion, and Electronic Warfare). Experience in state-of-practice approaches to Cognitive, Machine Learning, or AI algorithm development, training, and testing methods. Model Based Engineering (MBE) & Digital Twins – Applications of industry MBE Tools for system modeling, requirements development, design, and evaluation. Program-level analysis to identify business use-cases where MBE approached may add efficiencies. Development of digital twins in mixed-fidelity demonstration & test environments. Space Systems – Design, Operations, or Deployment of space systems & space-based capabilities (e.g., Ground Operations & Support, Launch, Bus, Payload, Communications, or Sensors). May include DoD operational, design, or test experience. Network / C2 Architectures & Cross Domain Solutions - Expertise in network architecture, interoperability standards (NATO STANAGs and FMN), and secure data exchange across classified and coalition domains. Key requirements include an expert understanding of Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) implementation; cross-domain solutions; and cybersecurity compliance for multi-enclave environments. Operational knowledge of Air Component Command and Control (C2) processes, coalition mission workflows, and foreign disclosure policies is preferred. RF Systems & Sensors - Design, Operations, or Deployment of RF systems to include Radar, Electronic Warfare, Communications, Software Defined Radios & FPGA-based systems, or other capabilities. May include DoD operational, design, or test experience. This position’s supervision is managed from Dayton Ohio. However, the role is mission driven, and candidates can be in Dayton, Ohio, co-located at other business sites (e.g., Hanscom AFB, Robins AFB), hybrid, or fully remote. The pay range for this role is $70-$95/hour depending on the candidate's unique education, background and experience levels. This position can support cleared and uncleared applicants.
