About The Position

Under the supervision of the Tech Assistant Supervisor, this role involves using the PACS system to transmit and print/burn CDs of patient imaging studies, transporting and assisting patients, and performing routine clerical functions. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and perform various duties depending on the area of assignment. The hourly rate for this position is $29.65 - $36.04.

Requirements

High school education or GED.
Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards (new hires have 6 months to obtain).
Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Nice To Haves

One (1) to two (2) years of recent experience.
Medical terminology is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Uses the PACS system to transmit and print/burn CDs of patient imaging studies.
Transports and assists patients, including lifting and moving them.
Performs routine clerical functions such as registering and pre-registering patients, appointment confirmations, answering phones, inputting patient data, preparing patient charts, and providing necessary consents and questionnaires.
Performs limited scheduling.
Assists technologists with PACS, room cleaning, and patient preparation.
Digitizes films and sends images to PACS.
Files x-ray jackets.
Assists physicians with viewing images on the PACS system.
Records all subpoenas and legal documentation for the Radiology Department.
Prepares current day's schedule.
Scans in signed MD orders.
Performs other duties as assigned.
