About The Position

Horton, Inc. has an opening for Teardown to work in our Britton, SD location. This is an hourly position with a starting wage of $23.35 per hour and depends on experience. Standard hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with overtime, as needed. The Teardown position involves transporting core to storage and tear down areas, cleaning and disassembling core to meet production requirements. The role also includes identifying and inspecting components for damage and usability, and sorting them based on part family. Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Staging of core
  • Transports units and prepares for disassembly. The quantity of units should be sufficient as specified by the production schedule.
  • Stages core for core storage or transportation to contractor. Based on guides given by the production schedule.
  • Identifies core and fills BOL to meet the requirement of logistics.
  • Disassembles units using standard industrial equipment, following standard disassembly procedures and checks for quality components.
  • Prepares unit to be cleaned as required.
  • Uses the standard vibratory bowl equipment and verifies quality of cleanliness thru part inspection.
  • Maintains vibratory bowl during work shift, media, and solvent/water levels.
  • Prepares unit for next station.
  • Unit is completely disassembled using standard industrial equipment.
  • Inspects components for quality and defects.
  • Sorts components for salvage and waste.
  • Prepares parts for further blast or wash.
  • Maintains fluid levels and filters in washer to keep quality of cleanliness.
  • Complete the cleaning and polishing of parts.
  • Inspects for damage and cleanliness.
  • Sorts based on part family/part number.
  • Transfers parts to finished goods area. Uses material handling equipment.
  • Exhibits and performs basic personal computer functions.
  • Uses the intranet to access safety information and other production related information.
  • Uses the business system to check work queues and inventory levels.
  • Records productivity and efficiency as required.
  • Provides training in work methods, procedures and work instructions to co-workers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by area manager.
