About The Position

The Team Specialist, Environmental Services oversees and directs staff regarding work completion, schedules, and assignments, while providing cleaning services to help maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and employees. The role assists supervisors and department leaders with operational problem-solving, staffing and employee development, workplace engagement, and budget-related activities. The position may also require duties beyond those listed, and specific functions may change over time.

Requirements

• One year of environmental services or related experience required.
• High school graduation or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct staff on work completion, schedules, and assignments within established policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership in identifying and resolving problems, coordinating solutions with the department leader.
• Assist with hiring, training, developing, and retaining employees.
• Communicate performance expectations, provide developmental feedback, contribute to performance evaluations, and address performance concerns through conflict resolution.
• Promote employee engagement and morale, foster open communication and teamwork, and help resolve team conflicts.
• Provide input on department budget development and management; assist with cost analysis, compliance programs, and justifications for budget variances.
• Inspect patient and non-patient areas to ensure consistently high standards.
• Clean patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and associated freestanding facilities.
• Use appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure and properly use and maintain equipment.
• Transport trash and hazardous waste to designated disposal areas according to procedure.
• Complete and submit required paperwork in a timely manner, including survey data and discharge or transfer documentation.
• Prepare Environmental Services carts with needed supplies.
