This role is responsible for managing performance and developing talent across all three production shifts, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to, and administering progressive disciplinary action when required. The position involves writing and administering performance reviews, setting annual goals for hourly production teams, and coaching and team building. A key responsibility is quality assurance on the assigned shift, including interacting with cell members to diagnose and repair issues, and working with QA to write corrective actions and response plans. The role requires following QA documentation, Control Plans, Prints, Visual Aids, Alerts, In-Process Inspections, and DRs. The individual will play an important role in the LPA (Layered Process Audit) process and act as the technical authority in the Des Plaines injection molding manufacturing operation. This includes understanding and correcting processing issues that impact profitability and quality, understanding machine capabilities, and performing calculations to determine which components and tools can run on different presses. The role also involves understanding different types of resins and their processing considerations. Additionally, the position is responsible for managing operational execution and continuity, setting the production schedule, maintaining the press matrix, and translating production priorities into an efficient schedule including startups and tool changes. Reacting to staffing issues on the shift, including call-ins, vacations, and mandated overtime, is also a responsibility. Effective communication across shifts is crucial, requiring good verbal skills to pass coherent information between shifts. The individual must understand and follow ITW core philosophies and understand the MRP and its relation to production scheduling, being proactive rather than reactive to issues.
