This role is responsible for managing performance and developing talent across all three production shifts, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to, and administering progressive disciplinary action when required. The position involves writing and administering performance reviews, setting annual goals for hourly production teams, and coaching and team building. The individual will have responsibility for Quality on the assigned shift, interacting with Cell Members to diagnose and repair issues, and working with QA to write corrective actions/response plans. They will follow QA documentation, Control Plans, Prints, Visual Aids, Alerts, In-Process Inspections, and DR’s. This role is important in the LPA (Layered Process Audit) process and acts as the technical authority in the Des Plaines injection molding manufacturing operation. The individual will understand and correct processing issues that impact profitability and quality, understand machine capabilities and run calculations to determine component and tool suitability for different presses, and understand different types of resins and their processing considerations. The role also involves managing operational execution and continuity by setting the production schedule, maintaining the press matrix, and translating production priorities into an efficient schedule including startups and tool changes. Communication across shifts is key, requiring good verbal skills to pass coherent information. The ability to understand and follow ITW core philosophies and the MRP is essential, with a focus on being proactive rather than reactive to issues.
