About The Position

Carpenter Co. is seeking a Team Operator to join their team. This role is responsible for performing cutting operations according to programs and customer specifications, conducting quality checks on materials, and unloading finished cut foam material. The Team Operator will also place excess trim material in the baler, maintain communication with line personnel to minimize downtime, record pertinent information of programs, and operate the baler. The position involves working in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes. The successful candidate will maintain daily communication with Quality Control, Department Manager, and other employees in the department to ensure the needs of all internal and external customers as outlined by the production schedule are met. Cross-training on other cutting equipment and performing other duties as deemed necessary by supervision are also part of the role.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Prior experience as a machine operator
Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations
Basic reading, writing and math skills
Ability to read and interpret a tape measure
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to work with little or no supervision

Nice To Haves

Forklift operator certification preferred

Responsibilities

Perform cutting operations according to programs and customer specifications
Perform quality checks on materials to ensure the product meets customer specifications
Unload finished cut foam material and transport to next production area
Place excess trim material in baler
Maintain communication with line personnel to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum
Record pertinent information of programs
Operate baler - bale and secure trim material from baler
Cross-train to operate other cutting equipment as needed
Other duties as deemed necessary by supervision
