About The Position

LH Mercantile is hiring a part-time Team Member to provide friendly, knowledgeable service to customers and support store operations. Team Members help customers select products, answer pet-care questions, and support sales initiatives. They also handle stocking and inventory tasks, care for live animals, and help maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment. LH Mercantile is a locally owned Pet Supplies Plus franchisee with 16 locations throughout the Chicago suburbs and Northwest Indiana. The business offers pet washes, grooming, curbside pickup, delivery, and autoship services, along with a selection of products for a variety of pets.

Requirements

Passion for pets and an interest in pet care and nutrition.
Enthusiasm for building relationships with customers and their pets.
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
Physical ability to move and lift 50 pounds.
Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and assist with product selection and pet-care questions.
Support sales initiatives and build relationships with customers and their pets.
Greet customers, collect customer data, and follow procedures for cash handling, returns, and coupons.
Stock shelves, rotate products, maintain displays, and assist with receiving and tracking inventory.
Assist with carry-outs and maintain planogram integrity.
Feed, clean, handle, and monitor live animals in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for customers, team members, and animals, following sanitation and safety protocols.
