About The Position

Eataly is opening its first-ever Eataly Caffè and is seeking Team Members to join this exciting venture. The role involves being a brand ambassador for Eataly, focusing on hospitality and quality. Team Members will craft and serve specialty beverages, prepare food items, and provide outstanding guest service. This position requires working across all areas of the operation, both back-of-house and front-of-house, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding health and safety standards. The role also involves mastering product knowledge to assist guests and collaborating seamlessly with other team members.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about coffee, tea and drink preparation and product.
  • Outstanding communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to follow recipe and execute tasks according to standard.
  • Ability to follow DOH / Company Regulations.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow directions for all production.
  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as manual espresso machine, ovens, drink blender, juicer and Point of Sale.
  • Dexterity for rapid repeated movements.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year barista experience on a manual espresso machine preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and serve a variety of specialty hot and cold beverages, following Eataly’s recipes and accommodating guest requests.
  • Prepare food items following Eataly’s recipes and high standards.
  • Provide guests with outstanding service and in-depth knowledge of specialty products.
  • Greet, guide, and assist guests throughout their experience at Eataly Caffe.
  • Prepare and serve authentic Italian espresso across multiple counters, including coffee/café drinks and prepared food.
  • Collaborate with other team members, fulfilling duties across all sections of the Caffe, including back-of-house and front-of-house areas.
  • Master product knowledge and storytelling to answer questions about the menu and products, offering guidance on allergens and ingredient information.
  • Maintain Eataly Caffe standards of guest service, presenting a hospitable and professional demeanor.
  • Ensure the Caffe remains clean and organized at all times through assigned cleaning duties, such as bathroom checks, table maintenance, washing dishes and equipment, cleaning prep and service stations, and stocking guest and employee areas.
  • Receive retail and product orders, including unloading, organizing, and stocking deliveries; recording information; and communicating shortages, discrepancies, and expired or damaged products.
  • Set up stations and replenish displays neatly, including separation of allergens.
  • Operate the Point of Sales (POS) system ensuring accuracy of cash drops and authenticity of bills.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
