Lead Process and Quality engineering teams in production, staffing, procurement, and Quality of Final Department equipment. As a Quality Team Manager, you will lead a high-performing cross-functional team of engineers and technicians. Your mission is to bridge the gap between production, engineering, and the customer through: Strategic Leadership & Governance Own the System: Lead the Quality Operating System (QOS) to achieve and exceed both internal performance metrics and external customer satisfaction goals. Financial Stewardship: Manage the Quality Department’s Labor and Overhead budget, identifying lean opportunities for cost improvement without compromising integrity. Audit Excellence: Serve as the lead for complex quality audits, ensuring rigorous adherence to ISO/IATF standards and corporate procedures. Technical Problem Solving & Innovation Drive Resolution: Spearhead the implementation of permanent corrective actions using advanced methodologies (8D, 3L x 5Y, and Six Sigma). Warranty & Data Analytics: Turn data into action by analyzing warranty trends to develop long-term engineering solutions. Supplier Synergy: Partner with the Supplier Technical Assistant (STA) team to drive containment and cost recovery for supplier-related quality issues at the "point of fit." Team Empowerment & Culture Mentor the Next Generation: Manage and develop a diverse team of Quality Engineers, fostering a pipeline of technical talent. Continuous Improvement: Champion Kaizen projects and Lean principles (5S, VSM, Visual Management) to eliminate waste and maximize efficiency. Education: Act as a subject matter expert, coaching plant personnel on standard Quality Tools and supporting Six Sigma certification tracks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5–10 years in a manufacturing environment, with a dedicated focus on quality or process engineering.
  • A proven track record of applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to solve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt; Lean Manufacturing Certification.
  • Deep familiarity with Ford’s Quality Operating System (QOS) and internal systems (BSAQ, GSAR, QLS, and FEDE).
  • 5+ years specifically within automotive quality leadership.
