About The Position

The Primetals-Blytheville Facility provides maintenance and reconditioning of beam, bloom and billet, conventional and thin slab casters. Engineering services, in-plant laser measurement services, in-plant millwright services, mechanical machining of large and small components, fabrication and welding services, in-house nickel and chrome plating are offered. Our expertise and technological advancements in the manufacture and repair of continuous casting mold, segment, roll and related components allow us to provide customers exceptional value in workmanship and quality assurance with every job. We are currently recruiting to fill the role of 1st shift Team Leader for Nickel Plating department in Blytheville, Arkansas. The Team Leader will spend more than 90% of work hours performing machining tasks similar to those of other group members.

Requirements

  • Perform all necessary tasks associated with electroplating operations including but not limited to the following: scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of plating solution, tanks, pumps, filters and other equipment associated with the process. Performance of work is under no supervision.
  • Preparation of parts: hand finishing, masking and installation of hangers and contacts.
  • Pre-treatment of parts: removal of grease, oil, and residues utilizing chemical or cleaning solutions.
  • Plating of parts: operating overhead crane to submerge part into plating tank.
  • Unmask parts after removal from plating tank.
  • Tests the plating process to insure compliance with required specifications. Adjusts the PH of the bath and the amperage on the electrical rectifiers as required.
  • Determines the correct program for plating process. Requires data input in computer to confirm length of time in bath and proper amperage.
  • Maintains environmental records for state and other regulatory branches.
  • Troubleshoots plating problems.
  • Ensures the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift, crew or function
  • Receives and disseminates written and verbal instruction, direction and training from Supervisor or other Senior Managers
  • Operates from a broad scope of responsibility to maintain production schedules and to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Enables effective communications between management and operators.
  • Enforces processing procedures and policies.
  • Ensures completion of operational documentation for assigned group, such as travelers, map sheets, job router, work requests to other departments, etc.
  • Ensures completion of safety documentation for assigned group, such as first reports of injury, environmental mishaps, JSA’s, etc
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area
  • Monitors and ensures shipments are loaded and rigged properly.
