About The Position

This is a safety-sensitive position where the Team Leader will be assisting the supervisor by overseeing a group of employees and maintaining inventory of components daily. The role involves taking charge of the department when the supervisor is away, enforcing safety, quality, and housekeeping principles, setting production runs, and assigning job duties. The Team Leader will coordinate work orders, check material inventory, feed material to production lines, and ensure equipment is operating properly and safely. Quality control is a key aspect, involving continuous checks of parts and correct usage of safety equipment. The position also includes administrative tasks such as filling out timecards, conducting safety meetings, accident reports, and verifying production quantities. Obtaining necessary parts, providing labels for finished products, and performing supervisory duties like split-offs, interviews, and disciplinary actions are also part of the role. The Team Leader will use SAP software for data entry and retrieval, assist in training lower-level employees, and support supervisors/managers with performance evaluations. Immediate notification of concerns to the supervisor/team leader is crucial. The role requires adherence to all safety regulations and procedures, identification of potential hazards, and maintaining good housekeeping. Specific tools may be used, and the ability to read engineering prints and measuring devices is necessary. In the warehouse, skills of a Material Handler, Senior are required, including handling the inter-company shipping process. The Team Leader will also assist the supervisor with first aid and perform other duties as assigned, including overtime.

Requirements

Demonstrates leadership ability in keeping the lines running and familiarity with parts, components, and tools.
Must be able to communicate effectively to motivate employees.
Must be able to speak English.
Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
Needs to be flexible with required working hours, including overtime.
Good basic math skills.
Able to troubleshoot and make effective decisions within the department.
Able to manage the department when the supervisor is away.
Must have the ability to drive motorized equipment or vehicles and have a valid driver’s license.
Commercial driver’s license is needed for Vehicle Repair Department.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of two years of prior related leadership experience is preferred.
Knowledgeable of company’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Takes charge of department when the supervisor is away.
Enforces Safety, Quality, and Housekeeping core operating principles.
Sets the production runs.
Assigns employees particular job duties throughout the shift.
Coordinates work orders according to the daily work schedule.
Checks the inventory for materials necessary to complete the assignments.
Feeds material to the production lines and interfaces with the material handlers.
Checks the equipment to see if it is operating properly, safely and is ready for production.
Continually checks quality of parts being produced, making sure all safety equipment is used correctly.
Checks work orders to assure correct parts are ordered.
Fills out timecards for agency personnel, and other necessary forms.
Conducts safety meetings and fills out accident reports in cases of injury.
Verifies the quantities of the product produced to prevent over runs.
Tracks attendance for employees daily.
Obtains the necessary purchased parts from stores and provides labels for the finished products.
Completes supervisory duties such as split-offs, timecards, interviews, and disciplinary actions.
Uses the SAP software to retrieve and input information.
Periodically assists in orienting and training lower level employees.
Assists the supervisor/manager with employees’ performance evaluations.
Notifies supervisor/team leader immediately regarding any concerns pertaining to the department and/or employees.
Follows and implements all safety regulations and procedures.
Identifies potential hazards in the work area.
Assists the supervisor with the organization and coordination of product storage.
Maintains good housekeeping in work area.
May use hydraulic and electrical hand tools, such as the pneumatic drill, glue gun, hammer, and rivet machine.
Pulls engineering prints as needed and must be able to read prints and measuring devices.
In warehouse, must obtain skills of Material Handler, Senior; handles inter-company shipping process.
Assists the supervisor to provide first aid to injured employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Works overtime as assigned.
