Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in operating a computer using email, Microsoft office and ERP system.
  • Knowledge of production assembly line processes

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of experience as a team leader in a production environment preferred.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing a plus.
  • Knowledge of welding is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leads production team and assembles parts by operating machines or using manual methods in a safe manner to meet production goals.
  • Responsible for all production KPIs (e.g. OEE, scrap, rework).
  • Participates in the maintenance, training and continuous improvement of Team Member Standarized Work.
  • Read and follow all work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitors production team for compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.
  • Report any deviations immediately.
  • Observe operation of machines and verify conformance of work piece to specifications and dimensions as well as visually inspect parts for non-conformance.
  • Oversees and manages the training for assigned shift in production.
  • Ensure annual safety reviews are conducted in accordance with Magna ESS safety competency training matrix.
  • Ensure staff are trained in the safe use of equipment, material, and chemicals they will be using.
  • Conducts safety training relating to production for assigned staff.
  • Ensure accident investigations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled inspections of the workplace to ensure compliance to safety standards.
