About The Position

This role is for a leader focused on efficiency, simplifying tasks and processes, and developing solutions to share with others. The successful candidate will work on projects that matter to the people of NSW, understanding that quality and delivering results requires a great team. The role involves coordinating work activities with stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Key administrative tasks include managing timesheets, leave requests, labour recovery, production planning, and work schedule updates. The position supports project delivery through workforce coordination, site documentation preparation, and resource planning. It also involves leading and coaching team members, communicating work priorities, and contributing to workforce capability development. Facilitating toolbox talks and team briefings, identifying opportunities to improve work practices, processes, and operational performance, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards while promoting a strong safety culture are also key responsibilities. Building effective relationships with Team Managers, Engineers, Project Managers, support teams, and contractors is crucial for achieving successful project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Level 3.1 Track competency (or equivalent rail industry experience), or the ability to obtain this within 12 months of appointment.
  • A current Class C Driver Licence.
  • Experience managing works programs to meet safety, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • A strong commitment to WHS, employee wellbeing, and EEO principles.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
  • Knowledge of rostering, labour costing, and operational reporting.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating teams and delivering work in a rail, infrastructure, maintenance, or similar operational environment.
