About The Position

We're building the platform that powers how Genetec develops, deploys, and operates software across cloud and on-premises environments. You'll establish and lead our observability practice: the telemetry platform that gives the organization a unified, standards-based view of system health across cloud and edge, from ingestion all the way to local monitoring on disconnected appliances. Today's instrumentation is fragmented and your team must converge it into a coherent stack that every product team relies on to understand whether their software is healthy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading teams in a software development environment
  • Strong interest in people leadership, delivery execution, and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable navigating technical complexity: you can follow architecture discussions and ask the right questions
  • Able to balance delivery pressure with sustainable, healthy team practices
  • Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills
  • Collaborative leader who builds trust, alignment, and ownership across teams
  • Fluent in French and English, both verbal and written (this role requires interaction with our international collaborators and customers)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with observability tooling and telemetry (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Application Insights, or similar)
  • Familiarity with metrics, logs, and traces pipelines, and observability backends at scale
  • Exposure to SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and reliability engineering practices
  • Experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, or cloud-native infrastructure
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud and on-premises deployment models, including disconnected or air-gapped environments
  • Experience leading Agile or DevOps teams
  • Background in distributed systems or large-scale infrastructure

  • Lead and support a team of software developers, fostering engagement, growth, and accountability
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and support through one-on-ones and goal-setting
  • Mentor team members and invest in their professional development

  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and team growth initiatives
  • Organize, monitor, and adapt team activities using Kanban
  • Translate product direction and organizational priorities into clear, actionable plans
  • Identify and remove obstacles, risks, and dependencies that impact delivery or team health
  • Ensure accountability for quality, reliability, and operational readiness
  • Coordinate with partner teams on shared dependencies and integration points
  • Continuously improve team processes and ways of working
  • Foster experimentation and adaptation: inspect what works, change what doesn't
  • Support incident response when required, and drive follow-up improvements
