About The Position

We're building the platform that powers how Genetec develops, deploys, and operates software across cloud and on-premises environments. We call it Engage. You'll lead the team that owns Engage's developer-facing experience: the portal, the service catalog, and the tooling that make the platform self-service and approachable for every developer at Genetec. Your team turns a powerful but complex platform into something developers can navigate on their own, from discovering services to scaffolding new workloads. When a developer interacts with Engage, they're interacting with what your team builds. You won't be writing code full-time, but you need enough technical depth to make sound trade-offs, guide architecture discussions, and earn your team's trust.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading teams in a software development environment
  • Strong interest in people leadership, delivery execution, and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable navigating technical complexity: you can follow architecture discussions and ask the right questions
  • Able to balance delivery pressure with sustainable, healthy team practices
  • Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills
  • Collaborative leader who builds trust, alignment, and ownership across teams
  • Fluent in French and English, both verbal and written (this role requires interaction with our international collaborators and customers)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building developer portals, internal platforms, or developer tooling
  • Familiarity with platform engineering, internal developer platforms (IDPs), or paved-road approaches
  • A product mindset: treating developers as users and the platform as a product
  • Experience with service catalogs, software templates, or scaffolding tooling
  • Exposure to API design, contracts, and dependency modeling
  • Experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, or cloud-native infrastructure
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud and on-premises deployment models
  • Experience leading Agile or DevOps teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of software developers, fostering engagement, growth, and accountability
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and support through one-on-ones and goal-setting
  • Mentor team members and invest in their professional development

  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and team growth initiatives
  • Organize, monitor, and adapt team activities using Kanban
  • Translate product direction and organizational priorities into clear, actionable plans
  • Identify and remove obstacles, risks, and dependencies that impact delivery or team health
  • Ensure accountability for quality, reliability, and a polished developer experience
  • Coordinate with partner teams on shared dependencies and integration points
  • Continuously improve team processes and ways of working
  • Foster experimentation and adaptation: inspect what works, change what doesn't
  • Treat developer feedback as a first-class signal and drive follow-up improvements
