About The Position

At Fraser Coast Regional Council our people are our most important asset and central to achieving our purpose of Building Better Communities Together. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to lead a field-based Parks Maintenance team delivering scheduled and reactive horticultural maintenance across parks, reserves, gardens and open spaces throughout the Fraser Coast region. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating daily operations, maintaining service standards, supporting a positive team culture and ensuring safe, efficient and customer-focused delivery of works.

Requirements

Current Queensland MR Driver Licence
Current AC/DC Chemical Distribution Licence
Current General Construction Induction (White Card)
Demonstrated experience leading a field-based operational team
Proven experience delivering horticultural maintenance programs to required standards and timeframes
Strong knowledge of WHS requirements, risk management and safe work practices
Well-developed communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders
Ability to use mobile devices and works management systems to record work activities, timesheets and customer requests

Nice To Haves

Certificate III in Horticulture or a related open space discipline
First Aid Certificate
Playground Inspection Certification

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate scheduled and reactive parks maintenance activities
Allocate work, coach staff and support team performance and development
Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, risk controls and safe work practices
Provide technical guidance on horticultural maintenance, machinery and site issues
Coordinate plant, equipment, materials and contractors to maximise efficiency
Manage customer requests and maintain accurate records through Council systems
