Under the supervision of the Group Sales or Department Manager, the Team Leader gives daily direction to the associates in one of the departments within the store, to include: merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service activities. The Team Leader supports the Group Sales Manager (GSM) / Department Manager (DM) in achieving departmental goals related to sales, gross margin, inventory shrinkage, and payroll. They provide daily direction to department associates, prepare task lists, and execute merchandising directives. The role involves ensuring a positive customer experience, assisting with staffing and training, coaching associates, and resolving customer and associate issues. The Team Leader is expected to maintain a high level of personal customer service and product expertise, conduct product demonstrations, and assist with special events, pricing, assortments, inventory accuracy, and displays. They also assist the GSM/DM in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, including interviewing, training, and performance management. A key aspect of the role is providing a legendary customer experience by identifying customer needs, making product recommendations, and promoting company programs. The Team Leader also performs other duties as assigned.
