This role is for a Bilingual Team Leader responsible for the daily management of a team of Disability Claim Specialists, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met, and providing ongoing coaching and development.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in business, medical or rehabilitation management.
  • Two years or more of people management.
  • Two to three years of direct work experience in Life and Disability insurance.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is required.
  • English proficiency is required to perform the duties of the role, which include daily collaboration with teams and partners outside Québec who operate primarily in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Insurance designation (LOMA or other) will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary resource for team members in determining direction and procedures for complex claims by providing information, answering questions and requests.
  • Communicate with different stakeholders to effectively manage relationships.
  • Contribute to department strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identify and evaluate trends and opportunities and define objectives and evaluate outcomes.
  • Demonstrate strong analysis and resolve quality and client service problems and identify trends while seeking out operational efficiencies.
  • Build a stable team through recruiting qualified talent, training employees and providing guidance in career development.
  • Contribute to the organization’s effectiveness by offering information and opinions at Team Leader meetings and building and maintaining inter- and intradepartmental relationships.
