Primary Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Required to understand and follow all company policies and procedures including those from EHS,QA,and production. Ensure that all guards and safety equipment have been installed and properly checked. Read and interpret blueprints. Review production schedule daily with Production Supervisor. Required to set the pace for output and help operators maintain the required pace. Train employees to operate machines. Document training in training matrix or Compliant Pro as directed by supervisor. Set up machines for specific job as required. This requires changing out all tooling and recalibrating as well as possibly operating machine during production runs. Maintain all 6S standards throughout the department on a daily basis Check parts dimensionally with measuring tools to maintain engineering drawing tolerances, including joint quality. Responsible for reporting any faulty equipment or safety issues in the department or working area. Participates in plans, goals and objectives ensuring alignment between shifts. Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor. Provides leadership and support. Responsible for printing daily product and box labels as required. Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements. Required to understand and follow all safety policies and procedures. Required to stage and move materials within area (manually not by forklift). Responsible for supporting production with all machines which includes setups, change overs troubleshooting and providing clear guidance/support and development to production employees. Responsible for reading, interpretating and understanding of work orders and procedures as set forth by ISO documentation. Assign employees to work area. Responsible for 1st part inspection and documentation on products. Responsible for training new and current fabrication employees as needed. Set up machines for specific job as required. This requires changing out all tooling and recalibrating as well as possibly operating machine during production runs. Required to achieve or exceed the Production standards that have been set. Must be able to communicate clearly with co-workers, supervisors, and Value Stream Manager. Maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the department on a daily basis. Responsible to maintain a safe working environment for self and all employees. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time.
  • Must have a total understanding of shop packets released to the shop floor.
  • Must be able to read, understand blueprints, and apply understanding to the task.
  • A complete understanding of the equipment operation.
  • Must have understanding and be able to identify the different material used in the department.
  • A thorough understanding of the hazard communication program.
  • Must be capable of selecting the proper tools and gauges required for the products produced.
  • Must be able to select the proper component parts required.
  • Must be trained to perform certain preventative maintenance tasks within the department.
  • Must be able to identify and report malfunctions of the equipment.
  • Must be able to train.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motion.
  • Examples: walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Clarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast and repetitious operation for extended period of time.
  • Exposure to machine noise levels (hearing protection required).
  • Exposure to heavy equipment or components needed to produce product (safety toed shoes required).
  • Exposure to electrical and mechanical moving parts.
  • Exposure to sparks, chips, and dust (eye protection required).
  • Exposure to extreme seasonal temperature conditions.
  • Must be capable of maintaining a 40-hour workweek and working overtime as needed.
