About The Position

Provides support for Transportation Operations by coordinating and monitoring the activities of a work group or cell. Assigns specific responsibilities to transportation personnel engaged in delivery functions. This position will be responsible to operate a heavy truck based on the business need.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of driving experience
  • Applicable motor vehicle licensing (Active Class A (CDL))
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions
  • Basic knowledge of government regulations within the trucking industry, i.e., DOT and FMSCA
  • Ability to develop and mentor others
  • Ability to foster teamwork
  • Ability to follow through with assigned tasks
  • Ability to communicate procedures and instruct others in a clear and precise manner

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of supervisory / leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all employees work safely and in accordance with company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conducts safety audits of drivers at the plant; conduct yard audits at assigned sites.
  • Provides back-up coverage in various functions including but not limited to: dispatching, training new hires, department support and/or driver support.
  • Acts as the main point of contact for Operations in the absence of a Supervisor or Dispatcher.
  • Reviews driver vehicle inspections reports (DVR) daily for unreported damages onsite; escalate to the appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Report any policy or procedure violations to the Supervisor or Manager.
  • Ensures items are loaded for delivery – fastened, secure, not overweight, and material is properly protected from outdoor elements (Truck Driver).
  • Provides timely delivery of product and proper paperwork to our customers (Truck Driver).
  • Represent TKMNA in a positive manner by providing customers with quick, precise, helpful, courteous and professional delivery service (Truck Driver).
  • Ensure truck is in the proper working order (Truck Driver).
  • Ensures that any debris caused by loading / unloading of truck is cleaned up (Truck Driver).
  • Maintains trucks overall service and perform required inspections (Truck Driver).
  • Completes all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift including but not limited to: daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc. (Truck Driver).
