About The Position

The Team Lead is required to operate safely, filling and packaging equipment according to procedures given by the Manufacturing Manager. This role involves leading Operators A, B, and C, assigning jobs in the line to ensure safe operation, quality, and performance. The position also includes training and coaching these operators. The shift is Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 3 PM.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead others.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Ability to operate safely, filling and packaging equipment according to procedures.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Ability to identify problems, troubleshoot, and train on various production equipment.
  • Ability to conduct quality inspection of goods at the correct intervals.
  • Ability to react and move quickly in case of emergency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cardboard baler, plastic baler, filler, packaging robot, palletizer, RFID labeler, labeler, box erector, pallet jack, pick and place card/blister adjustments, taper/tape gun, and additional production equipment.
  • Experience operating the mixing area.
  • Experience operating as a material handler.
  • Experience with routine preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Experience with accurate and timely reporting of production, labor, and scrap.

Responsibilities

  • Assures a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Promotes and follows all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Reports any safety and/or environmental incident immediately to the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Performs manually and/or tends machines which perform various packaging functions such as filling, labeling, packing, or closing containers.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Responsible for machine adjustments, set-ups, changeovers, maintenance, cleaning, and general operation of various filling and packaging machines.
  • Identifies problems, troubleshoots, and trains on the cardboard baler, plastic baler, filler, packaging robot, palletizer, RFID labeler, labeler, box erector, pallet jack, pick and place card/blister adjustments, taper/tape gun, and additional production equipment.
  • Validates and organizes jobs in accordance with the bill of materials and special work instructions based on current and future job orders.
  • Conducts quality inspection of goods at the correct intervals, ensuring that the product is packaged according to the work order, and identifies and corrects any quality issues.
  • Operates as a material handler if required.
  • Able to operate the mixing area if required.
  • Assists in training assigned full-time/temp operators and assists other teams as needed.
  • Coordinates and performs routine preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of production, labor, and scrap incurred during the shift.
  • Assists with MH, B, and C operator roles when needed.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
