About The Position

The Weld Team Lead oversees production of the weld cell, provides necessary tools, and communicates with Operations Supervisors, Auto Techs, Tooling employees and team members on production, scheduling, and quality issues. As a Weld Team Lead, you’ll be part of our team located in Hesston, KS. You’ll get to: Create, maintain, audit and improve standard work for your team. (Approx. 20%) Lead start up meetings, stretches, hoist and weld lead inspections, 5S audits. (Approx. 10%) Achieve daily metrics that feed into corporate goals, through improving processes, parts flow, poka yoke, and manpower utilization. (Approx. 15%) Update SIC boards and Tier 1 boards for the line with active problem solving. (Approx. 15%) Train new employees, transfers, and perform cross training using training within industry methods (TWI). (Approx. 10%) Assist with line-level communication to the Production Manager, supervisors, production employees, quality services, engineers, manufacturing engineers, customers, vendors and suppliers as needed. (Approx. 10%) Ensure adherence to quality specifications and developing corrective action plans for defects along with quality department staff. (Approx. 20%)

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in assembly, fabrication, welding, mechanical
  • Six months to one year of production experience
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
