Team Lead - Utility Operator
About The Position
The Gund Company has an immediate opening for a full-time 1st Shift Manufacturing Team Lead to join our team! This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The position may involve repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time. As a Team Lead, you will play a key role in supporting production operations, ensuring that parts are fabricated to meet work order specifications and customer requirements. This includes operating and setting up various CNC and non-CNC production machinery, conducting manual assembly tasks, and adhering to safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Intermediate math skills & aptitude
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand drawing and blueprints
- Ability to use measuring instruments accurately and effectively
- Accustomed to being flexible when changes occur.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform manual tasks as required.
Responsibilities
- Be a technical resource for operators.
- Train and develop less experienced operators with the help of the Value Stream Manager (VSM).
- Complete work order paperwork and maintain high standards of quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Operate machines like saws, manual mills, lathes, presses, routers, and more.
- Conduct in-process inspections according to standard procedures.
