The Team Lead operates a business within a business, responsible for the daily operations of the used firearms business. This includes buying, selling, and customer service related to firearms. The position involves initiating all 4473 forms, conducting final checks of required forms before firearm transfers, and fostering a customer-satisfaction selling culture to achieve monthly sales goals and maximize profit through pre-owned firearms. The role requires evaluating and appraising used firearms, negotiating acquisition prices to obtain the highest possible margin, and maintaining inventory through daily buying and cultivating leads for off-site purchases. Compliance with all Local, State, and Federal firearms regulations is essential, including conducting monthly ATF and company compliance audits. The Team Lead will also be responsible for merchandising used firearms, recommending items for online posting to maximize margin and sales speed, and collaborating with regional and corporate teams. A key aspect of the role is training and educating other staff on acquiring and disposing of used firearms, sales trends, policy updates, negotiation skills, and firearm identification. The position also involves providing high-quality customer service on the sales floor, assisting with customer inquiries, quoting prices, and resolving customer issues with good judgment.
