Requirements

  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must have high attention to detail
  • Satisfactory performance and attendance records, technically competent and demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Working knowledge and experience of production flow and processes.
  • Change management leader who demonstrates our company Cultural Pillars.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to lead, influence and motivate a group of peers without direct supervision.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook as well as previous experience utilizing manufacturing software.
  • A High School Diploma or GED certificate

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years of prior manufacturing experience
  • Forklift certification
  • First Aid certification

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to and fosters a safe work environment by upholding all safety rules and procedures, asking questions when unsure, and embracing our Target Zero philosophy.
  • Reads, understands, and follows production schedules ensuring the right product is manufactured at the right time and at the right place.
  • Following production job orders and schematics, this position adjusts/sets equipment parameters and ensures applicable parameters are achieved.
  • Gathers materials as needed based on established production schedules to ensure a continuous and efficient door crafting process.
  • Performs quality checks throughout the production process, ensuring manufacturing specifications are achieved.
  • Willing to work occasional weekends and extended hours during the work week as needed and be flexible to schedule changes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Attend training programs offered by the Company.
  • Communicate with coworkers and supervisors in a clear and professional manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assists with teambuilding; engagement and increasing engagement daily.
  • Addresses attendance and disciplinary issues with a coaching lens.
  • Keeps processes moving, by setting up material and processes for staff and directing operations accordingly to increase quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure all team members are working safely, are in a safe environment and wearing proper PPE by doing daily safety walks.
  • Tests and inspects machines to determine safe and efficient operation, performs routine maintenance, and fixes standard malfunctions.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
  • Lead, encourage, and motivate team by treating them with dignity & respect.
  • Lead daily Tier Board (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity) and Gemba Walk meetings in department to keep team informed of current events as well as department performance in Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Use Pitch Boards to recognize gaps in production goals and then works with team to determine root cause and countermeasures.
  • Write and maintains standard work on a continual basis to define best practices. Work with all team members to develop process improvements and modifies standard work accordingly.
  • Provides training for assigned team to verify compliance with SOPs, standard work, safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Audits all operations to assure ongoing compliance such as 5S audit, then creates work assignments and countermeasures based on results.
  • Leads RPS process (problem solving, 5Why, brainstorming, investigation) to find Root Cause and create Countermeasures for issues in area.
  • Monitors day-to-day staffing requirements with Supervisor based on time-off request and unexpected absences to reach daily production goals.
  • Ensure daily paperwork is filled out accurately and on time, and that the communication boards are updated as needed.
