About The Position

As part of our Production team, you will support in maintaining the KPIs set on the production floor and to ensure products that are being made meet customer specifications. This position is responsible for assisting the Production Supervisors by providing on-the-job training to technicians and monitoring performance. The Team Lead, Production ensures that human resources and equipment operate at peak performance to hit daily production targets safely.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in manufacturing or a related field
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in a Lead role or similar
  • 1 year experience as a production operator or in a related environment
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing
  • Technically inclined
  • Ability to analyze KPIs
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize duties to meet deadlines and can adapt to unexpected priorities
  • Focused on careful, precise, and high-quality work
  • Systematic and patient when approaching technical tasks; having strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Independent, allowing for deep focus and uninterrupted work time
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written skills
  • Must have the ability to maintain and pass an RCMP criminal record check and obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Direct production staff to execute an all-production order
  • Perform Start up or pre-operational checks
  • Collaborate with Materials Management team to ensure materials are staged on time
  • Track hourly throughput and machine performance
  • Train employees on SOPs or Standard Work Instructions (SWI)
  • Assist Supervisors in managing performance and covering absences
  • Take attendance at the beginning of each shift
  • Complete shift reports hourly
  • Collaborate with supervisors to sustain continuous improvement initiatives
  • Timely escalation of quality and maintenance issues
  • Oversee the change overs daily and set up the line according to each run
  • Ensure the pace of production is always upheld
  • Cooperate with admin to complete production & repack transactions
  • Ensure all quality standards are met during line clearance
  • Perform daily scale calibrations
  • Complete In-Process control checks
  • Monitor quality control points to ensure they are within limits during hourly checks
  • Support product quality investigations with insights as an SME
  • Complete Quality records
  • Stage and verify materials prior to the production run
  • Ensure Boundary samples are setup and cleared accurately
  • Conduct 30-minute In-Process checks for each production run
  • Ensure all employees are wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Verify that equipment is in good working condition before operation
  • Ensures that work is done in a safe manner
  • Fill near miss and incident reports
  • Administer training to staff during onboarding and when needed
