About The Position

This role is responsible for performance of tasks related to drug formulation, weighing raw materials, cleaning, mixing sophisticated tanks and equipment, distilled water sanitization, filter integrity testing, and documentation. Working in a cleanroom is essential to delivering life-saving therapies. The Team Lead Pouch is happiest when they are moving, and will not be disappointed in Baxter's fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum 6 months of manufacturing experience and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
  • Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematics
  • Possess or be able to obtain PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) Operator Certification
  • Possess or be able to obtain Inspector Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Six months experience as a Sr. Material Handler, Production Technician or equivalent preferred
  • CRC (Career Readiness Certification) at the Silver level preferred
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn/use enterprise software (i.e. POMS and Maximo) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Foster a safe work environment by ensuring team knows the cardinal rules, applying 6S principles to sustain a clean and safe work area, and regularly conduct Gemba/safety walks.
  • Set up line for Production including having to step in and operating the equipment as needed, ensure labor efficiency and escalate staffing shortages.
  • Along with the supervisor, motivate, engage, recognize, and develop employees to create a positive work environment
  • Support supervisors in hiring manager responsibilities: interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and training new employees
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Project and Safety Teams, Lean Initiatives, Value Stream led activities and defect prevention programs
  • Review batch documentation and records, perform preventative maintenance tasks and updating electronic records in various software applications
  • Perform scheduled quality checks, disposition product, identify any deviations that may occur and take the appropriate action to include stopping production on the machine if necessary
  • Assist in leading tier meetings which include a review of safety, quality and production goals
  • Lead or escalate troubleshooting activities with Quality and Maintenance personnel to resolve true root cause of non-conforming processes
  • Communicate with outgoing shift personnel to obtain information regarding any problems with machines, materials, etc. encountered during the previous shift
  • Investigate, identify and correct or escalate any inefficiency in value stream performance
  • Take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
  • Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
