About The Position

The Packaging Team Leader will play a vital leadership role overseeing daily operations of UDA’s Packaging of powder and butter. This role will be responsible for managing the success of the plant’s production, warehouse, inventory, product quality and efficiencies, and employees.

Requirements

  • Experience in a lead, supervisor, or management position, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee and drive projects through completion in a timely, safe, and efficient manner
  • Player-coach leadership mentality with the ability to be hands-on while also managing a team
  • Ability to lead multiple business initiatives in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of computer programing systems including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, inventory management systems, and internet browsers
  • Detail oriented with the ability to effectively manage and track warehouse inventory, product logistics, and efficiencies
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss and generate business reports, business correspondence, and procedure documents
  • General understanding of mechanical equipment, parts, and tools
  • Ability to operate moving tools, equipment, and finished product up to 55lbs on a frequent basis
  • Basic typing skills and familiarity with computer programs
  • High school diploma
  • Ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals

  • Previous forklift experience, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of UDA’s Packaging area, including production, warehouse, inventory, food safety and quality standards, and employees.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship of packaging and warehouse operators in all aspects of production
  • Collaborate with UDA’s senior leadership on plant production, growth strategy, staffing, and facility needs
  • Assist in the monitoring, tracking, and reporting of data, machine efficiencies, losses, issues, and opportunities to plant production manager
  • Engage, empower, and supervise plant employees including leading growth initiatives, employee training, scheduling, leave requests, staffing support, disciplinary actions, and
  • Regularly collaborate with UDA’s quality team to enforce facility, production and food quality and safety compliance standards, including the participation of audits
  • Maintain accurate machine efficiencies on each product and work with employees
  • Occasionally assist, instruct, or mentor employees within the production lines
  • Resolve production and safety problems as needed and provide immediate follow up to production variances and accident investigations
  • Monitor the cleanliness and maintenance, oversee the completion of needed repairs
  • Always maintain food safety and quality standards, resolving and/or reporting compliance issues immediately.
