About The Position

This role is for someone who wants to tackle challenging problems, work with ambitious brands, and help shape the future of organic growth. The Team Lead will run a small group of Strategists while also owning their own book of clients, with a 50/50 split. This is a hands-on leadership role where quality and team health are maintained as the company grows. The Team Lead will report into the Director of Organic Growth Strategy, providing coaching, QA, and direction to their team. This role requires doing strategy, QA, and client work, with half the volume dedicated to developing people.

Requirements

  • Senior Strategist experience or leadership experience with hands-on strategy.
  • Direct leadership style with the ability to give hard feedback and follow through on commitments.
  • Sharp strategic instincts, including proficiency with GSC, GA4, Ahrefs, and competitive data analysis.
  • Understanding of how organic search integrates with broader business objectives.
  • Ability to differentiate between deliverables that rank and those that move the business.
  • Ability to maintain organization and quality oversight under pressure.
  • Experience integrating AI into workflows and pushing tools to their limits.
  • Deep care for people development, viewing it as a primary responsibility.
  • High agency, with a proactive approach to identifying and proposing solutions for functional improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a group of Strategists through bi-weekly 1:1s, honest feedback, and coaching on analytical depth, business judgment, research instincts, and turning insight into client outcomes.
  • Hold the quality bar for the team, being accountable for Strategist outputs by knowing which work needs review, which Strategists need support, and which deliverable types need improvement.
  • Run a personal book of accounts at full strength, maintaining deep client knowledge, sharp strategy, and high-quality delivery.
  • Help build the team by screening and interviewing candidates, providing hiring input, and owning the onboarding of new Strategists.
  • Make the function repeatable by identifying workflow friction, documenting best practices, and contributing to SOPs for scalability.
  • Utilize AI as a core part of strategy production, building workflows that increase speed without losing rigor, and coaching Strategists on AI's role in accelerating thinking versus driving the work.
