About The Position

The Team Lead - Extrusion is a crucial role responsible for leading and optimizing extrusion operations. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of extrusion processes, materials, and equipment. The Team Lead will be expected to supervise a team, drive production efficiency, and ensure adherence to quality standards. This role demands strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Thorough knowledge of extrusion processes and equipment.
General knowledge of production management principles.
Working knowledge of quality control procedures.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervision of a team.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Experience with problem-solving and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
Experience with Continuous Improvement Process methodologies.
Experience in a similar role within the extrusion industry.
Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field.
Familiarity with workflow management systems.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the extrusion team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
Monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, and efficiency.
Troubleshoot extrusion process issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Oversee the scheduling of production runs, coordinating with other departments to meet customer demands.
Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain a safe working environment.
Implement and maintain quality control procedures, ensuring product specifications are met.
Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Utilize Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications for data analysis and reporting.
Participate in and contribute to process improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing principles.
Effectively communicate with team members, management, and other departments regarding production status and issues.
