About The Position

The Ceiling/Wall Set Lead is responsible for leading the wall installation process while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with daily leadership and coordination of the wall set team.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and directions.
Strong knowledge of drywall installation methods and tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated attention to detail and quality.

Previous experience in a lead or mentoring role.

Responsibilities

Measure, mark, and lay out wall materials according to blueprints, drawings, and supervisor instructions.
Cut, fit, and install drywall to ensure proper coverage, alignment, and clean finishes.
Secure drywall using appropriate fasteners and adhesives.
Inspect completed work using levels, lasers, framing squares, and straight edges; correct deficiencies as needed.
Patch and repair drywall to achieve a like-new appearance.
Ensure wall layouts are properly completed within the unit before progression.
Verify travelers for accuracy and completeness prior to sign-off.
Ensure travelers are signed off before units exit the section and before the end of shift.
Assign daily tasks based on production needs and employee skill levels.
Monitor team performance to ensure productivity, quality, and safety expectations are met.
Communicate progress, issues, or concerns to supervision in a timely manner.
Safely erect and dismantle scaffolding and ensure proper lifting techniques are followed.
Maintain and manage required tools, equipment, and materials.
Promote a safe, organized, and respectful work environment.
