About The Position

Helical Pile Solutions, a deep foundations contractor with over 30 years of industry experience and recently acquired by Java Holdings Ltd., is seeking an experienced Team Lead, Business Applications. This role is based in Calgary and reports to the Manager of IT Service Operations. The position involves leading a new Business Applications team, providing hands-on business analysis, governance, and solution delivery oversight across application platforms, with a primary focus on Microsoft 365. The team supports M365 as a core platform, but also covers ERP systems, estimating tools, field applications, and other critical business software. The role requires balancing people leadership, stakeholder management, and technical solution design to promote adoption, continuous improvement, and service excellence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis or application delivery
  • 5+ years of experience leading technical teams (formal or informal leadership)
  • Strong Microsoft 365 and SharePoint knowledge
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer
  • Commitment to ongoing skills development, including training and certifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of applications to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Act as IT liaisons for various business applications, working closely with business stakeholders and coordinating with vendor teams.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, including performance management and career development.
  • Establish standards, governance, and best practices for the Modern Workplace team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Assign work, manage priorities, and ensure service delivery commitments are met.
  • Manage intake, prioritization, and demand for Modern Workplace initiatives.
  • Gather and document business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
  • Translate requirements into practical Modern Workplace solutions.
  • Lead initiatives from intake through to implementation.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, solution design sessions, and reviews.
  • Oversee the delivery of application support for enterprise and business-critical systems.
  • Ensure timely incident resolution, root cause analysis, and service health monitoring.
  • Review and approve SOPs, knowledge base articles, and training materials.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex or high-priority application support issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement in application support processes.
  • Provide Microsoft 365 subject matter leadership across the team.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and governance alignment for all Modern Workplace solutions.
  • Drive adoption, user engagement, and continuous improvement of M365 tools.
  • Collaborate closely with infrastructure, security, and service operations teams.
